Our CLV group, the Sew & Sews led by residents John and Dee Thomas, use their talents to help meet the practical, daily needs of others. This group truly demonstrates how to share comfort and compassion with those in need. Thank you to our Sew & Sews for all they are doing for others. Their many projects include hand-sewn totes to attach to walkers or wheelchairs; cobbler aprons for the CLV Memory Care community; eyeglass cases and small bags for safe keeping of hearing aids during surgical procedures; lap robes for patients confined to wheelchairs; caps for newborns at Olathe Medical Center and small Afghans for babies who die at birth. They are also able to give comforters to children at Safehome and pillowcases for children with cancer at Children’s Mercy Hospital, both of which the children get to keep and take home. They will accept cash donations or needed items purchased by individual members.
