February's Cedar Lake Village Artist Showcase features these talented quilters! Residents and staff previewed the quilts and then all joined together to listen to Donna Frenzl speak about the history of quilting in America. Thank you to the Good Samaritan Society - Communities of Olathe board members for their help in making sure the quilts arrived safely from their homes to our Worship and Life Center!
Helen Condron displays her quilts. She refers to the one on the left as her "blue birds of happiness!"
Betty Townley displays the quilt started by her mother and finished by several quilters in the Olathe area. The quilt was finally finished in the 90's.
Mary Jane Gieringer shows off her quilt "Forgotten Barns."
Joan Jones and Winona Rhodes stand next to their "Friendship Quilt." These ladies were members of a quilting club together before they moved into Cedar Lake Village.
Bettye Coughenour displays her calendar quilt. Bettye and her sister made matching quilts together, each square represents a month on the calendar.
Carol Garber enjoyed showing her quilts to the show participants.
