Cedar Lake Village's own Tracey Torola, Senior Living Director, received the Good Samaritan Society's 2012 Augusta Award at this year's Annual Meeting in Sioux Falls, S.D.
In a recent article published in July's The Connection newsletter, it describes the Augusta award: "named for one of the Society's first staff members, is a prestigious honor that recognizes one of the Society's 24,000 staff members for outstanding service."
The Connection goes on to describe Tracey's experience with the Good Samaritan Society:
"Tracey has been with the Good Samaritan Society for 25 years. She began working in senior care while still in high school and first served with the Society as a certified nursing assistant in Nebraska. Over the years, she went back to school and held various positions including marketing and resource development. As the senior living director at Cedar Lake Village, she oversees services for more than 200 seniors.
The Augusta Award also recognizes staff members who respresent outstanding characteristics outside of work. In addition to her work with the Society, Tracey is active in various community organizations including the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, the Optimist International and the mayor's prayer breakfast committee. She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she serves on the Church Leadershio Council, is a Stephen Minister and serves on the local Lutheran Mission League."
Joanna Randall, the Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Communities of Olathe, had plenty to say about Tracey. "I am always so impressed by how personally she knows the residents, their families and her staff. She has a such a big job an dso many residents admire how she takes time to get to know them so well. In addition to being extremely sensitive, compassionate, energetic and a great comfort to those around her, Tracey is also just plan fun. She has a fantastic sense of humor and uses that gift abundantly."
One of our current residents here at Cedar Lake Village said, "She has become my true friend during the last four and half years I've lived here." She is always available to listen to a problem, give a great hug and also pray with a resident."
Here at Cedar Lake Village we are all so excited and proud of Tracey and wish her a big CONGRATULATIONS! There will be a reception held to honor Tracey on Tuesday, July 31 at 2:30 p.m. held here in our Chanticleer Dining Room. Please join us to help us all celebrate Tracey's big honor!
