Cedar Lake Village Walks to End Alzheimer's

Saturday, October 10 2015 11:02 PM

Cedar Lake Village recently participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s held on Sunday, October 4 in Overland Park, KS.  This walk benefitted the Alzheimer’s Association and was sponsored by the Heart of America Chapter.

Team members consisted of staff, families, and friends.  Several employees of Farmer’s Bank, the bank onsite Cedar Lake Village, also participated in the walk and supported our team.  In total, 18 participants walked with our team and so far we have raised a total of $370 with all proceeds benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association.

Each participant was able to choose a flower for the Promise Garden Ceremony.  Each color represented a different relation to the cause.  Blue flowers were for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, purple flowers represented people who have lost loved ones to the disease.  Yellow flowers indicated the individual is supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease, and all of the orange flowers are for everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.

So far, the walk has raised a total of $561,872, with a total goal of $585,000.  Donations will be accepted through November 30, 2015.  If you would like to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association on behalf of Cedar Lake Village, please visit our team website to make an online donation:  http://act.alz.org/goto/goodsamolathe.
