Hoeger House is a Cedar Lake Village, Inc., property, located on the campus of the Olathe Medical Center and is operated in partnership with the Good Samaritan Society. Hoeger House provides short-term rehabilitation for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
Hoeger House is excited to announce that we are now providing transportation for admissions from hospitals within Johnson County at NO CHARGE. If the hospital is outside of Johnson County, please call for our flat rate. It is our goal to make your rehabilitation stay as comfortable and easy as possible.
Our therapists are dedicated to providing each patient with individualized treatment programs and one-on-one therapy sessions. We provide a progressive, proactive, and multidisciplinary approach to therapy through:
Physical Therapy
- Balance Training
- Gait Training
- Joint and soft tissue mobilization
- Home safety and management
- Bathroom safety
- Wound care
- Pain management - ultrasound and E-stim
- Strength and endurance training
- Contracture management - orthotics
Physical therapy can help patients return to normal activities with increased strength, balance and endurance.
Occupational Therapy
- Activities of daily living - bathing, dressing, etc.
- Home safety evaluation
- Upper extremity, fine motor, and therapeutic exercise program
- Hand therapy
- Energy Conservation
- Seating and Positioning
- Contracture management - splinting
- Community re-entry
Patients learn exercises to strengthen muscles and improve condition.
Speech Therapy
- *NEW* Vital Stim Therapy now offered at Hoeger House
- Verbal and written expression (aphasia)
- Slurred speech (dysarthria)
- Inability to form words (apraxia)
- Alternative communication systems
- Swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) - management and safety
- Acquired communication deficits (dysfluency)
